Event: Neuroscience Competition

Neuroscience Competition

4 Mar 2023 12:30 - 18:00 — Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology of Behavior – caesar

This year, the regional competition of the German Neuroscience Olympiad Bonn (organized by the DNO Bonn e.V., supported by MPINB, BFB, BIGS Neuroscience, NeuroTechEU, ibehave) will take place in our institute.

The German Neuroscience Olympiad (DNO) is an all-German competition for secondary school students in grades 9 to 13 with the aim of promoting interest in the neurosciences. Similar to the Mathematics or Biology Olympiad, students compete against each other and answer questions from different areas and topics of neuroscience (in English). The regional competition will take place in Bonn, Heidelberg and Berlin on 4 March 2023. In Bonn, the local jury contesting the students at this day, consists of Pascal Malkemper, Sabine Krabbe and Ilona Grunwald-Kadow. A special keynote lecture will be given by James Lightfoot. The first 15 student winners will qualify for the national competition in Frankfurt and finally the winner will participate in the international Brain Bee competition.

We are looking forward to the exchange with students, teachers, parents, and guests. We do not only offer program to the participants: The keynote lecture, the podium session and an interactive exhibition, the "NeuroExpo", is open for everybody. Our team members present (their) scientific projects and key facts from the neurosciences on posters and are also available for questions about studying or training.
