Event:
From Genes to Circuits and Behavior
From March 23 to 25, 2026, around 200 neuroscientists from across the globe will gather in Bonn for the 8th BonnBrain Conference, held at the DZNE on the Venusberg campus.
The international meeting brings together experts from diverse fields to explore how neural circuits control behavior, spanning research from genetic mechanisms to systems-level brain function. Keynote speakers include Cori Bargmann (Rockefeller University), Edvard Moser (Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience), Rosa Paolicelli (University of Lausanne), Maude Baldwin (Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence), and Zachary Knight (University of California, San Francisco).
Edvard Moser received the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, together with May-Britt Moser and John O’Keefe, for their discoveries of brain cells involved in spatial orientation and navigation.
The conference features keynote lectures, symposia, poster sessions, and short talks selected from submitted abstracts. A student-organized symposium and dedicated networking opportunities provide space for exchange and collaboration among researchers at all career stages.
BonnBrain is jointly organized by the University of Bonn, the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), and our institute. The conference aims to strengthen connections within the local neuroscience community while fostering international collaboration.
