Event: Girls' Day
Researcher for one day
On April 27th, Girls' Day is coming, and research center caesar is involved again. Eight girls between the ages of 13 and 15 from secondary schools in Bonn will be given the opportunity to look over the shoulders of various scientists for one day and to get first insights into biochemical and technological research. First, the students will identify the composition of painkillers by means of thin-layer chromatography. Under the guidance of caesar’s employees they will prepare the samples, analyze them and evaluate their results. After a common lunch, the girls will be given an insight into electron microscopy. Using scanning electron microscopes they will be able to make their own images - for example of insects and flowers - and thus get a fascinating insight into the microworld.
