“Transparent by Nature” – working together for more openness in animal research communication

On March 20, we had the pleasure of co-organizing the first Natürlich transparent/Transparent by Nature networking event at the University of Bonn – and we’re thrilled with how it turned out! Around 75 participants from local research institutes working in science, animal care, and communication offices came together to exchange ideas and experiences around animal research and transparent communication.

A highlight was the keynote by Dr. Vera Beckert from Pro-Test Deutschland e.V., who offered hands-on tips and thoughtful approaches to communicating openly about animal research. In the following World Café sessions, we engaged in lively discussions on topics such as the “Culture of Care,” openness about mistakes, and improving collaboration between researchers and animal care staff.

We would like to thank all participants for their openness and input – and the University of Bonn and our partner institutions for the great collaboration. We are alredy looking forward to next time!
