Postdoc Day 2025

The Postdoc Day 2025, held at the Universitätsclub Bonn, brought together over 150 early-career researchers and 21 exhibitors from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and local research institutes and think tanks for a day of exchange, inspiration, and networking.

The MPINB was represented at the event with a joint booth together with the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy and the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods. Throughout the day, we engaged in numerous conversations with postdocs and PhD candidates about ongoing research projects, career opportunities, and academic pathways within the Max Planck Society.

One of the day’s highlights for us was the info session on the role of networking in postdoctoral careers given by Anja Günther. Anja is a postdoc in our research Department of Computational Neuroethology and is part of the steering committee of the Max Planck Postdoc Net. Her talk attracted a full audience and sparked lively discussions and follow-up questions, underscoring the relevance of this topic for early-career researchers.

The Postdoc Day 25 was organized by the University of Bonn’s Human Resources Development team in collaboration with the Bonn Research Alliance (BORA) coordination office. Thanks to their efforts, the day ran smoothly and provided a well-curated program.

We look forward to taking part in the next edition of Postdoc Day!
