We are delighted to announce our next Neuroscience Seminar Series talk. Presentations by experts in their field will take place both here at MPINB and via Zoom.
Unweaving the cognitive map
Kate Jeffery - University of Glasgow
Abstract
The past several decades have seen an accumulation of neurobiological and psychological studies showing that mammals and other vertebrates have an internal neural representation of space, called a cognitive map. Understanding how this map is assembled from incoming sensory inputs is a major goal of current neuroscience. My talk will review work from my lab exploring, using neural recordings from behaving rats, how the map is structured in complex space.
