Learning about electron microscopy

In collaboration with the Gymnasium Königswinter and as part of the MINT support by the zdi ("Zukunft Dutch Innovation"), caesar offered once again its very successful one week intensive internship for a group of grade 11 pupils.

During the week the pupils got an insight into the world of electrone microscopy. Under the lead of Dr Stephan Irsen, head of our EMA facility, the pupils learned about the different aspects and techniques of electron microscopy.

Beside others, questions like the highest resolution, the preparation of an EM probe and the differences between a raster electron microscope and transmission electron microscope were answered in a hands-on approach.

An exciting and fruitful week for everyone involved!
