The MPINB at the Long Night of Science

On Friday, May 13, 2022, we had a booth at the 13th Bonn Night of Science. As one of about 20 local research insitutes, we explained our research goals and current projects. The visitors were invited to take a look through our microscopes to see the sensory cells in a vertebrate's eye or brightly colored nerve cells in tiny worms. An interactive screen played a variety of short video clips of interviews with our group leaders or short overviews of recent publications. Everybody, who solved our little quiz on our research got a little prize. One challenge was to match 3D prints of real-sized brains to the corresponding animal species. Especially the younger visitors were enthusiastic about our "school lab" offer and eagerly made their own "brain hats"

As in the years before, we are very happy about the great interest in our research and the many inspiring conversations with our visitors. We are already looking forward to next time.
